Sarum Red Silk Dressing Gown

Our dressing gowns, with their tailored, sartorial silhouette, are a daring reinterpretation of our heritage silks.

Our Holbein silk, woven in the oldest silk mill in England, features as the main fabric. Originally a 17th-century handwoven silk, this pattern of lush foliage initially features in the backdrop of the Baptism of Louis XIV, a Le Brun tapestry dating to circa 1630.

Since Bodley, a founder of Watts, redrew the fabric in 1890, its popularity has endured and remains as alluring as ever.

Now reimagined, once again for the modern wardrobe: wear to the members’ club, a dinner party, or as luxurious loungewear.

Every dressing gown is handmade to order by our in-house team of specialist, artisan producers, in our Westminster atelier.

Lead times are 4-6 weeks.

Main fabric: Holbein silk damask in Sarum Red (100% silk)
Collar accent fabric: Wisley velvet in black and caramel (42% cotton, 58% viscose)
Lining: Gold Fabia Comb (55% cotton, 25% polyester, 20% silk)
